Computing

Vision Statement

At St. Michael's, we empower every child to become confident and responsible digital citizens. Through our rich computing curriculum, formed by a blend of Purple Mash and Teach Computing resources, pupils develop strong foundations to computer science, practical information technology skills, and thoughtful digital literacy. We place online safety at the heart of our teaching, nurturing respect and kindness in all digital interactions. Our pupils leave us as capable digital creators and critical thinkers, ready to thrive in an increasingly connected world.

Coding Club

Pupil Leo lead a Coding Club across the school starting with a group of children from Year 3. Leo is reminded the children the key skills that they had been taught in their computing lessons and gave them the opportunity to apply them. In week 2, Leo decided to revisit making an object move and adding a speech bubble with a timer. He linked this in with World Kindness Day and our school Christian Value of Kindness
